How much does a college graduation photographer cost on the South Shore of Massachusetts?

College cap and gown sessions at Stefanie Lynn Photography start at $350 for a 30-minute solo session with 8 edited digital images. The Signature Cap & Gown session is $525 for 60 minutes with 15 edited images. Duo sessions start at $325 per person, and group “Crew” sessions are $275 per person. Add-ons like extra images and rush turnaround are also available.

When should I book my college graduation photos?

As early as possible.  Spring graduation dates on the South Shore book quickly. Most seniors book between January and March for April and May sessions. If your graduation is in May or June, I recommend reaching out at least 6–8 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date and time.

What should I wear to my college graduation photo session?

You’ll always wear your cap and gown, that’s the centerpiece. For additional outfits, I recommend one or two looks that feel authentically you: something polished but not stiff. Think solid colors or simple patterns, and avoid logos or busy prints that can distract from your face. I send all booked clients a style guide to help you plan.

Can I bring a friend to my graduation session?

Absolutely, and it’s one of my favorite ways to shoot! I offer Cap and Gown Duo sessions for two seniors at $325 per person, and Cap & Gown Crew sessions for groups of three or more at $275 per person. You’ll each get individual portraits plus photos together. It’s a great way to celebrate and split the cost.

Do you travel for sessions?

Yes! I'm based in Marion, Massachusetts and travel throughout the South Shore, Cape Cod, and Greater Boston. Sessions within 25 miles of Marion are included in your session fee. Travel beyond 25 miles is billed at $0.72 per mile, and I'll always provide your estimated travel cost upfront before you commit to booking.  Towns include: Plymouth, Duxbury, Marshfield, Scituate, Hingham, and beyond. I also shoot on campus at colleges including URI, UMass Dartmouth, Bridgewater State, Stonehill, and Wheaton. Beach, campus, waterfront, and park locations are all available.

How long does a college graduation photo session take?

The Quick Cap & Gown session is 30 minutes,  perfect if you want something clean and polished without a big time commitment. The Signature session is 60 minutes and allows for more locations and outfit changes. Duo sessions run 60 minutes and Crew sessions run 75–90 minutes depending on group size.

How many photos will I receive from my graduation session?

The Quick Cap & Gown session includes 8 fully edited digital images. The Signature session includes 15. Duo sessions include 8 edited images per person, and Crew sessions include 6 per person. You’ll receive your images via a private online gallery where you can download, share, and order prints. Additional images can be purchased individually or in bundles.

Do I need to have graduated from a Massachusetts college to book a session?

Not at all. I work with seniors graduating from colleges anywhere: in Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, or beyond, as long as you’re celebrating in or around the South Shore and Massachusetts area. Many of my clients attended URI, UMass Dartmouth, or schools across New England.

How long after my session will I receive my photos?

You’ll typically receive your edited gallery within 2 weeks of your session date. If you need your photos sooner, for announcements, social media, or a graduation party, rush turnaround is available.
